After witnessing last summers stunning sunrise camping out at Cheakamus Lake, I intended to get back and photograph a stand up paddleboarder among the landscape.
Recruiting a friend for a last minute trip, I was keen to get outside after a week of recovering from jet lag from my Asian travels.
With over 3km to cover from the parking lot to the put in, it was portage time once again taking us through the temperate coastal rain forest to the open waters of the lake.
Old big red and her custom cart easily made another trip however, even with an additional pleasure craft on board.
Capturing the morning sun bring the day to life out paddling the calm waters made the early rise was well worth the effort.
Catching up and collaborating over a perfect morning on the water made for a great kick of to the season. I'm looking forward to everything this summer has to offer!
